Who we are

By Locals, for you.

This website started as a text message to a friend. I had been living in Whistler for a couple of months and I had a friend text me asking what they should do when they were in Whistler the following week. Then I got another request, then another, then another. Over the last 25 years of visiting whistler and 10 of living here full time, I have developed extensive lists of how to navigate this place. Now, I’m sharing it with the world.

I made my first trip to Whistler in the year 2000, and moved here full time in 2016. Being a Whistler local who is engrained in the community and culture, I have become a source of information and truth about how to spend your time (and money) in the place I call home.

You may or may not agree with the content on this website. Feel free to send us a message and we’d be happy to chat and make it better!

Here are a few things you can expect from The Whistler Guide:

  • 100% authentic content: Direct from Whistler locals, no AI-generated content, marketing jargon, or false promises. If something sucks, we don’t include it.

  • Unbiased information - aside from our own personal biases, nobody pays to be featured on this website, and we’re not trying to hard sell you on anything other than making the most of your Whistler trip.

  • Community Focus: Our goal is to help people make the most of this place. The content will change over time with different recommendations and focuses. We will always be willing to work with local businesses and see ourselves as a valuable partner to the Whistler community.
