Recommended Hiking

  • A person walking across a suspension bridge over a rocky cliff with snow-covered mountains in the background during sunset.

    Whistler Blackcomb

The most commercialized hiking in the area - but also some of the best alpine access. The 500m rule applies big time here. Walk 500m and you will all of a sudden find yourself away from the crowds and in some pretty spectacular spots.

  • Person standing on a rocky ledge overlooking a valley with mountains in the distance and a river flowing through the valley.

    Hiking the valley

Hiking in the valley isn’t quite as prolific as the mountain biking trail network - and you definitely should not hike those trails. But there are a few hiking options available from quick walks to multi-day epics.

  • Black and white photograph of a mountain range with snow patches, reflected in a calm body of water in the foreground, under cloudy sky.

    Beyond Whistler

You can use Whistler as a basecamp to drive slightly further afield and experience some of the stunning options within the coast range, including Garibaldi and Duffey Lake provincial parks.
