Whistler Snow Forecasts, Weather Reports, and Insider information

What’s the forecast? Is it snowing now? Is the Whistler Blackcomb marketing team lying to me?

There are several resources that locals use to get as much information as possible about what is going on at the resort, on the highways, around town, and with the weather. Here’s our list.

Winter Resources You’ll Want to Use

  • Snow-capped mountain peak seen through a blurred stove grate in the foreground.

    Whistler Peak

Possibly the most amazing site in Whistler. It gathers together various weather sources including mountain data, webcams, and road conditions all in one convenient site. A shortcut to this site sits on every local’s phone home screen.

  • Sign that reads 'PEAKS express' during snowfall, with snowflakes falling in front of a cloudy sky.

    Snow Forecast

A great source for upcoming precipitation and temperatures. This site almost always overstates precipitation and temperatures. It takes some skill (and luck) to interpret it. It does give a great representation on when we can expect storms and the quality of snow we can expect.

  • Snow-covered mountain range with two skiers in red jackets and black pants in the foreground.

    Avalanche Canada

The sole source of truth for avalanche conditions in Canada. Updated daily please check this site before heading out of bounds.

  • A winding mountain road with a guardrail, surrounded by trees, leading towards snow-covered peaks in the distance, under a partly cloudy sky.

    Drive BC

If you are driving to and from Whistler, this site provides the most accurate and reliable status on road closures, construction, and conditions. There is also a great selection of webcams to see real time conditions.
