Fall in Whistler
All-Time Fall-Time
The alpine is free of snow, the summer crowds start settling down, and the days get shorter. Fall is one of the favourite seasons for Whistler locals. This is the time of year to catch the final bike park laps of the season, hike high up in the alpine, and enjoy prime conditions on Lord of the Squirrels.
Fall might be the only true remaining “dead season” in Whistler. After (Canadian) thanksgiving and the famous Turkey sale, you’ll start finding “dead season deals” at many local restaurants - often prix-fixe set menus at very reduced prices. Lodging tends to be a bit cheaper.
Fall Pros:
By far the least busy season in Whistler
The weather can be amazing.
Fall Cons:
The weather can be gross. Like, really gross. Dark and rainy for weeks on end.
Top Tips
Get into the alpine. Fall is best spent well above the valley floor.
Check out restaurant websites for “dead season deals” where you can get great food at much cheaper prices
Check to see what is open. As you get deeper into the fall, several businesses will close for seasonal maintenance and staff break before the winter.
